Aside from the administrator's first post in June 2010 (it's the end of August 2010 now) there wasn't a single post. So I went to the SketchBook forums to pose my questions. I called Autodesk's customer support with a couple questions and they just told me to go to the forums. I thought it took up a lot of real estate for what it was. I also wasn't that impressed with it's 'lagoon' toolbar. If you're expecting any kind of conventional drawing package features such as shapes etc. I suppose this is good provided you are ONLY sketching and don't ever want to change the color (or line thickness etc) after you've lifted the pen and seen what you've got. I also had the desire to drop down some text on my freehand technical drawing sketch but there is no way to enter text! I get that it'll be converted to pixels and not editable afterwards, but still. There is a way to draw ovals, but it's pretty obtuse and no other kind of shape at all is supported. you can't change the color! As previously reported in the MacUpdate reviews, there is no way to draw any kind of rectangle. I drew some random squiggle and then decided I wanted it to be a different color. However, I'm way frustrated at the lack of some bog-simple features. So I'm going to show our outline, and I'm going to go and do a very similar process as we did before.As far as scribbling and painting is concerned, this is an OK tool. This is also known as nondestructive shading. And we could also apply the badge to a separate layer and just overlay it like that but I am going to show you another technique called grayscale. Like this, you'd notice there's a problem, it applies it to everything, so this is why first of all a layered structure is very important when you're doing a project like this. We'll we could simply go in there and change the hue and saturation. And I knew this was going to be a red vehicle and that's why I chose it as the base color, but what if you start a project and you don't know what color you're going to be using, maybe there is multiple derivatives. So, if we open our layer editor, let's go to our background editor and everything is on one layer right now. In this video, I'm going to show you another technique for creating this vehicle body.
